Run Through History, Conquer the Coast
The Spice Coast Marathon has become one of Kerala’s most recognized long-distance running events, attracting runners from across India and abroad. Set against the scenic backdrop of Kochi’s historic waterfront, colonial streets, spice markets, and coastal roads, the marathon blends endurance sports with the cultural identity of Kerala’s ancient spice trading hub. Organized annually by the Soles of Cochin Running Club, the event is known for its flat and fast course, community participation, and vibrant race atmosphere.
The marathon route takes runners through iconic stretches of Kochi including Marine Drive, Willingdon Island, and heritage neighborhoods connected to the city’s maritime past. The race has steadily grown into one of the largest running events in Kerala, welcoming elite runners, amateurs, senior citizens, and first-time participants alike.
