India’s Original Trail Marathon Along the Scenic Banks of the River Kaveri
The Kaveri Trail Marathon is an annual trail running event held near Mysuru, Karnataka, usually during November or December. First launched in 2007, the race became India’s first dedicated trail marathon and helped introduce organized trail running to the country’s endurance sports community. The event is organized by The Trail Series and attracts both elite trail runners and recreational endurance athletes from across India and abroad.
Unlike traditional city road marathons, KTM is conducted entirely on trails, dirt paths, village roads, forest tracks, and riverside terrain along the banks of the River Kaveri. Over the years, the race has gained a cult following within India’s ultra and trail running ecosystem because of its scenic route, technical terrain, and peaceful rural setting.
