The TCS World 10K Bengaluru was launched in 2008 by Procam International as the third major running property following the success of the Mumbai Marathon and Delhi Half Marathon. At a time when organized road running was still developing in India, the event helped establish Bengaluru as one of the country’s leading running cities and played a major role in popularizing the 10K distance among recreational and competitive runners alike. Its rapid rise was recognized internationally when it became the youngest race at the time to receive the IAAF Gold Label, and over the years it has attracted some of the greatest names in distance running, including Geoffrey Kamworor, Joshua Cheptegei, and Peres Jepchirchir. Today, the race stands as one of Asia’s premier road-running events and a cornerstone of India’s endurance sports landscape.
